Route Waypoints
Drop bags at hotel, then walk or take M2 two stops to Moscova and enter the Brera district on foot. Brera is the neighbourhood that gives Milan its soul — art galleries, independent bookshops, antique dealers, flower-filled courtyards, and one of the best wine cellars in the country (N'Ombra de Vin). The cobblestones and shuttered palazzi look Parisian; the food and wine are unmistakably Lombard. Evening plan: walk Via Fiori Chiari → Piazza del Carmine → Via Brera → aperitivo at N'Ombra de Vin → dinner in the neighbourhood.
Practical Tips
M2 Green Line from Centrale: direction Assago, 2 stops to Moscova. €2.20 single. Exit via Moscova, walk south on Via Palermo to enter Brera.
N'Ombra de Vin (Via San Marco 2): a former Augustinian monastery refectory turned wine cellar. 2,500+ labels. Aperitivo from 18:30 with gourmet charcuterie and cheese. Glasses from €6. One of the best aperitivo experiences in Milan and consistently praised by TimeOut.
Fioraio Bianchi (Via Montebello 7): Parisian-style flower bar — by day a florist, by evening an aperitivo spot. Bouquets everywhere, tables cramped, atmosphere electric. Aperitivo 18:00–20:00.
Bar Jamaica (Via Brera 32): the historic artists' bar of Milan since 1911. Campari Spritz and Negroni, no food, pure Milanese spirit. Good for a pre-dinner drink.
For dinner: Osteria del Binari (Via Tortona 1, VERIFY reservation) for traditional Lombard cuisine, or Trattoria da Abele (Via Temperanza 5) for risotto Milanese.
