Authors’ Terms

Last updated: 2026-10-26

These Authors’ Terms apply, in addition to the general Terms of Service, to everyone who publishes routes or tours on Wanderpath (“Author”). Wanderpath is operated by Vitalii Shevliakov, a sole proprietorship registered at Deventerstraat 184, 7321CG Apeldoorn, the Netherlands (KvK 42011587).

1. Becoming an Author

You become an Author by publishing a route or a tour. You must be at least 18 years old, act in your own name or for a business you are authorised to represent, and provide accurate information about yourself and your content.

2. Your content and the licence you give us

You keep ownership of everything you publish (text, photos, GPX files, waypoints, tips). You grant Wanderpath a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and translate it (including by automatic machine translation), and to sell access to it on the Service and promote the Service with it, for as long as it is published and for as long as buyers who purchased it keep their access.

You confirm that you own or have the right to use everything you publish, that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights, and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Content created by Wanderpath itself remains ours.

3. Safety and accuracy

Routes can involve physical risk. You must describe known hazards, closures, access rules and permits honestly and keep your content up to date. You must not publish content that is unlawful, misleading, dangerous or hateful, or that sends people onto private land or into restricted areas.

4. Prices and our fee

You set the price of a paid route, currently between €5 and €300 (including VAT where required). On each sale Wanderpath keeps a fee of 30% of the price for routes and 25% for tours; the rest is yours. The fee includes the payment processing costs, which we bear.

If a buyer comes to Wanderpath through a partner referral link, our fee on that sale is 15% and the partner receives the commission agreed between the partner and Wanderpath (up to 50% of the price). Your share of that sale is the remainder, so it is lower than on a direct sale. The amounts are shown in your earnings. We will give 14 days’ notice before changing any fee.

5. Payouts

Payouts are made through Stripe Connect. You must complete Stripe’s onboarding (identity and bank details), accept Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement and keep your Stripe account in good standing. We never see or store your bank details. Until your Stripe account is complete you cannot sell paid routes.

  • Routes: your share is credited to your Stripe account when the sale is completed and is paid out to your bank according to your Stripe payout schedule.
  • Tours paid in full through Wanderpath: we hold the payment and transfer your share to your Stripe account after the tour has taken place.

6. Refunds and reversals

Buyers can request a refund within 14 days of purchase if a route does not match its description or is materially faulty (see our Refund Policy). Wanderpath decides refund requests. When a purchase is refunded, your share of that sale is reversed.

7. Tours

For tours you set the date, the price per seat, the number of seats and the cancellation window, which is shown on the booking page. You are responsible for your own insurance, licences, safety and compliance with local law for the tours you run.

Payment options for tours

For each tour you can allow one or more of the following ways to pay:

  • Full payment through Wanderpath. The participant pays the full price on Wanderpath. We keep our 25% fee and transfer the rest to you after the tour has taken place.
  • Deposit. The participant pays a deposit of 25% of the price on Wanderpath. The deposit is our fee for the booking. The remaining 75% is paid by the participant to you directly (for example in cash on the day of the tour); Wanderpath does not collect it, guarantee it or take part in it.
  • Reservation only. The seat is reserved on Wanderpath without any payment through us, and the participant receives your contact details. Payment is arranged directly between you and the participant, and no fee is due to Wanderpath.

If you cancel a tour, we refund everything the participants paid through Wanderpath in full and email them. You must refund anything they paid you directly and keep them informed. For amounts paid directly to you, refunds and disputes are solely between you and the participant.

8. Taxes

You are responsible for reporting and paying the taxes on what you earn. We may be required to collect your details and to report your earnings to tax authorities.

9. Moderation and removal

We may review, refuse, edit or remove any content, pause publishing or close an Author account if content breaks these terms or the law, if we receive a valid complaint, or to protect buyers. If a route is removed or your account is closed, people who have already bought it keep their access for as long as the Terms of Service allow.

10. Ending the relationship

You can unpublish your content or close your Author account at any time by emailing us. Sales made before then remain valid and the payouts for them are completed.

11. Liability

Our liability to you is limited as set out in section 10 of the Terms of Service. You are responsible to us and to buyers for the accuracy and legality of what you publish.

12. Changes and governing law

We may update these Authors’ Terms with 14 days’ notice by email. Dutch law applies, and the competent court of the district of Gelderland has jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer-protection rules.
